Lines Misses Podium

Steven Lines narrowly missed out on a podium finish in last Saturday night’s second round of the Ultimate Sprintcar Championship Chase at Warrnambool’s Premier Speedway in Victoria.
After a win in the opening heat race and then a fourth in the second heat race (from the back of the field), the WA # 3 Bridgestone Tyre Centre Albany / Halls Haulage backed KPC driver qualified into the pole shootout for the 30-lap feature race, which saw him start from third.
An entertaining battle broke out at the front of the field, where Lines battled in podium contention for the majority of the race with fellow top competitors of Jamie Veal, James McFadden and Robbie Farr, before dropping back to fourth and that was where he stayed until the fall of the chequered flag.

With a total of 10 feature-race wins under his belt for the season so far, Lines was disappointed with his finish to the night.
“I had some really good battles and it was an entertaining race,” explained Lines, who traded slide jobs with his rivals throughout the feature race.
“Fourth was not where I wanted to end up, but it was great to have a clean and hard race with some of the best racers in the country.”
The next race for Lines and the Halls Motorsport team will be at Murray Bridge Speedway for this Saturday night’s annual Ross Wright Memorial.
“I’m looking forward to building on our good form heading to Murray Bridge,” Lines commented.
“I have had three feature-race wins there so far this season, so I’m hoping to add to that tally this Saturday night.”
